Tignanello 2017 – Tuscany IGT – Marchesi Antinori – Red wine
It was the first Sangiovese to be aged in barriques, the first modern red wine blended with non-traditional varieties (such as Cabernet), and among the first red wines in Chianti Classico not to use white grapes. Tignanello is a milestone.
It is produced with a selection of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.
Tenuta Tignanello is located in the heart of the Chianti Classico, on the soft hills enclosed between the Greve and Pesa valleys and extends over 319 hectares of land, with about 130 hectares of vineyards. Among its vineyards, two treasures: the Tignanello vineyard and the Solaia vineyard which extend on the same hill, on soils deriving from Pliocene marine marls with limestone and shale, and enjoy warm days and cool nights during the growing season
