There’s no stimulator like adrenaline!

For those who seek to explore the wild, but equally beautiful side of our island, this daily trip to the southern part of Corfu will leave you thrilled!
The quad safari starts from San George, at the south part of the island. It isn’t just a trip on a road, you’ll go off road! So, just get ready to attack the trail!
At first, you have the chance to drive through a narrow strip of land that separates the lake from the sea, where the dunes are. Τhe virgin, but at the same time wild nature, will impress you since the whole area is under ecological protection. A ride close and around the Korission lake and the beach of Halikounas is a must.
Next stop, a winery, where a very old local variety of wine is produced, kakotrygis (white dry wine). Since the times of Homer and the Odyssey, Corfu has been famous for its wine, and still continues to produce excellent wine varieties.
Μoving on you will meet the castle of Gardiki. Gardiki Castle is a 13th century Byzantine castle on the southwest coast of Corfu, and the only surviving medieval fortress in the southern part of the island. It was built by the ruler of the Despotate of Epirus, and was one of the three castles that defended the island before the era of Venetian rule (1401-1797).

Driving through really nice spots, you will arrive at an olive oil museum.
The museum illustrates the history of olive oil extraction from the mid 16th century, with a single 2850 kg grind stone and extremely rare and beautiful double screw wooden press, all the way into the intricately designed donkey powered three grind stone mill, with a full metal hand driven press forged in the steel factories of Corfu town. Moving on to the diesel powered mill and hydraulic press and centrifuge separator of the early twentieth century that stopped working in 1964.
Then, a tour at the museum and modern olive mill, which include explanations and insights into the life and history of olive oil and modern methods of production, follows. There, an olive oil tasting of many award winning olive oils, with local bread and assorted olives is waiting for you. Leaving behind the museum you reach the village of Chlomos and after enjoying your lunch accompanied by a wonderful view, you will cross the olive grove till the beach of Marathia, a large sandy beach where you will enjoy your swim in the crystal clear waters.
In the afternoon you will return to San George after having an amazing day!
